I recently had the incredible opportunity, along with 150 other Travel Advisors, to visit and tour the breathtaking Azores. While many of us had heard of these islands, they hadn’t truly been on our radar as a must-visit destination for our clients—until now.
Let me tell you: the Azores are nothing short of enchanting.
The vibrant city of Ponta Delgada, with its spotless streets, charming cafes, and beautiful waterfront walking trail, left me in awe. Then there’s Terceira Island—a lush paradise with stunning gardens, serene green spaces, and absolutely incredible volcanic hot springs. The views from the volcanic craters? Simply unforgettable.
What makes the Azores even more appealing is the year-round moderate climate, ensuring it’s a fantastic destination no matter when you travel. English is widely spoken, and even in cases where there may be a language barrier, the locals go above and beyond to understand and meet your needs. Their warmth and hospitality are truly heartwarming.
And the food…oh, the food! Fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly affordable. Pair that with their delicious local wines, and you’re in for a treat. Fun fact: the Azores are one of Portugal’s largest dairy producers, and the farmers proudly say they have the happiest cows in the world. One look at the lush green fields and sweeping landscapes, and you’ll see exactly why!
