Travelling by air soon? Don't head to the airport until you read this! The Air Industry is currently going through massive changes. Here are my five key pieces of advice to navigate these changes and keep your sanity:
ONE - make sure you have good travel insurance. I never travel without it, and it will reimburse the costs of hotel, meals, essentials, etc if you have a delayed flight or a missed connection.
TWO - Arrive at the airport at least an hour earlier than you usually would. Because of staffing shortages and an increased number of travellers at airports, expect delays.
THREE - bring along your patience. The front gate agents, flight crew are stressed and overworked. Lashing out at them will not get you home any faster.
If you can't do ONE, TWO & THREE above, I suggest you avoid air travel for the foreseeable future.
FOUR - make sure you have a few changes of clothes, toiletries, essential medications, etc in your carry on, so if and when you're delayed you have a back up supply.
FIVE - always use the services of a professional Travel Advisor. Our service fees will save you time, money and headaches in the long run.
All of this said, yes, travelling is a bit of a hassle, but it's worth it! Happy Travelling!! ✈
